Martha Mushipe sued over K70, 000 house rentals

UPND lawyer Martha Mushipe has been dragged to the Lusaka High Court by the landlord of the house she occupies in usaka s Ibex ill for allegedly refusing to pay
rentals which have accumulated to K70, 000.
Archie Mctribuoy claimed that Ms Mushipe breached the Tenancy Agreement entered into between him and her on January 14, 2017.
“The respondent has breached the said tenancy agreement extensively to the extent that she has wilfully failed, neglected and refused to pay rentals within the meaning of the tenancy agreement to the extent that the same has accumulated in excess of K70, 000 and has been so erratic,” read the claim.
Mr Mctribuoy is seeking an order for leave to issue vacant possession and warrant of distress of the premises known as House No. 100/11, Ibex Hill.
He also wants payment of outstanding rentals at the rate of K6, 500 per month from January 2017 until vacant possession is rendered less money paid so far.
Mr Mctribuoy also demands damages, costs and any other reliefs that the court may deem fit.
