LUBINDA CANES ‘ARROGANT’ HH
HAKAINDE Hichilema and his cronies are aiming at crippling the nation with a constitution that is problematic, Minister of Justice Given Lubinda has observed.
Mr Lubinda was reacting to the directive by the UPND leader, to his members not to participate in the upcoming constitution refinement process.
He said during an interview on Hot FM that it was arrogance of the worst kind for any leader to refuse being part of a process of cleaning the constitution.
Mr Lubinda said that participating in constitution refinement should be everyone’s interest as it was clear that there were inconsistences in it which could not be ignored.
He reiterated that a leader who decided not to be part of such an important national process, ‘ should be left in the corner to rot’.
Mr Lubinda said that it was strange that Mr Hichilema wanted to vote against something he had not even seen. “Is that normal? Is that a natural reaction of a person? I don’t think so,” he said.
Mr Lubinda questioned what Mr Hichilema and his cronies wanted because they were not consistent with their stance on national issues.
He pointed out that the UPND was in the forefront demanding for a refined constitution and that it was its Member of Parliament who moved a motion to have it cleaned.
Mr Lubinda said that ruling party MPs agreed to the refinement because they upheld the plight of Zambian people.
He also urged participating organisations to support the people they would be sending to represent them as Government would not give any allowances.
And Mr Lubinda reiterated that Choma Central Member of Parliament, Cornelius Mweetwa’s motion he tabled in Parliament demanding the reinstating of meal allowances in public universities was only meant to advance political mileage.
“Mr Mweetwa was in Parliament when we introduced a living allowance in public university which includes feeding. Why then should we pay meal allowance separately?” he questioned.
