- By ANDREW MUKOMA

ATLASMARA has pledged to continue offering competitive products and also to engage in other activities of national interest.

The bank’s Managing Director James Koni said in Livingstone that the economic climate in Zambia was conducive for business to thrive, hence his organisation’s resolve to improve operations. Mr Koni said therefore that the launch of the bank's mobile banking services called 'Tenga' has made the lives of clients better. And Vice President Inonge Wina says that the merging of Finance Bank and Bank ABC to make it Atlasmara has brought the required competition in the banking sector. Mr Koni said during the launch of the Southern Province Investment and Tourism Exposition in Livingstone on Thursday that his bank was excited about the mobile wallet account. He explained that the mobile wallet account was for those without bank account but mere mobile phones to ensure no one was left behind. Mr Koni said that Atlasmara will take part in the South Expo as a sponsor just the bank has sponsored the last three expositions in Luapula Central and Northern. "Our Tenga mobile wallet has been translated in all the seven languages and it has created an opportunity for people even to pay taxes through their mobile savings since Livingstone is the Tourist Capital of Zambia," he said. "We are a bank that believes is working and supporting the business community and the government," he said. And the Vice President said at the same function that the merging of Finance Bank and Bank ABC to make it Atlasmara has brought required competition in the banking sector. Ms Wina said, therefore, that other traditional banks should look out for the new kid on the block, Atlasmara. She commended the bank for being supportive to the Government and the business community in Zambia.
