Mumbi counsels opposition alliance on NDF proposals
THE opposition alliance partners should not merely criticise proposals being made at the National Dialogue Forum when they have not put in any input or seek clarification on the proposed reintroduction of deputy ministers says, former UPND presidential spokesperson Edward Mumbi.
Mr Mumbi said so far it was not clear whether or not the proposed reintroduction of deputy ministers would be within line ministries or at provincial level.
He said if deputy ministers were to be reintroduced at provincial level it would be a welcome move.
He said the decision would help the nation save funds and insisted that it was a mistake which could be corrected having given provinces ministers instead of deputies.
In an interview yesterday, Mr Mumbi took a swipe at the opposition alliance for criticising proposals aimed at refining the constitution saying they had an opportunity to attend the meeting but opted to politicise the process.
