‘Stop political propaganda’

- By ROGERS KALERO

ZAMBIANS must learn that only hard work and not political propaganda by those seeking to get into power will help them, a Kitwe entrepreneur has said.

Mr Munalula Moola said Zambians do not need political propaganda to end hunger and poverty, but needed to change their mind-set and embrace entrepreneurship.

Mr Moola, who is an engineer, said in an interview in Kitwe that it would be a waste of time for any Zambian to believe cheap propaganda by those seeking to get into power who were promising to end poverty.

“For countries like China and others to be where they are today, it is not hard work from the government only, but even from the general citizenry. So even us, if we change our attitude towards work, we will develop.

“But if we choose to listen to political propaganda by those seeking to get into Government, then we will be wasting our time. If we are not working hard, no politician will come and end poverty and hunger in our homes, no one,’’ Mr Moola said.

Mr Moola urged Zambian to utilise opportunities which Government had provided to become serious entrepreneurs and contribute to poverty alleviation.

He said ordinary Zambians had a role to play in ending poverty through exploiting every opportunity before them.

He said opportunities being presented by the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) aquaculture loans empowerment scheme could play a vital role in empowering youths and women.

‘’Our work culture is bad. We need to change our work culture and exploit opportunities which government is presenting before us. This CEEC aquaculture loans empowerment scheme can play a big role to change the lives of our women and youths,’’ Mr Moola said

Mr Moola also advised Zambians to stop politicising Government initiatives and instead concentrate on finding the best ways of benefitting from such initiatives.
