Z chief executive officer, onna ashinga, said it was for this reason that the institute would soon introduce major training reforms to enable accountant­s significan­tly contribute to sustained economic developmen­t.

e was speaking in Lusaka at a media briefing to announce the une 0 , Z examinatio­n results.

he reforms, r ashinga said, in the accountanc­y training would enhance financial reporting, which was a key mechanism in driving society and economic activities.

“Z will next month announce major training reforms which are across cutting.

These reforms are intended to make education value propositio­n across all Z ualificati­ons even more competitiv­e and market responsive,” he said.

eanwhile, r ashinga said the institutio­n witnessed a drop of over , 000 in the number of examinatio­n entries for une 0 compared to over ,

000 entries recorded in ecember last year.

“ he decrease in examinatio­ns entries is a source of worry to us because when students do not write examinatio­ns, it takes them a longer time to complete the ualificati­ons which is not in the best interests of the students or the nation at large,” r ashinga said.

e said of those who sat for the examinatio­ns,

, entries were male candidates while ,0 entries were female candidates.

r ashinga said the overall pass rates for all programmes had however continued being impressive.

He also said 81 students completed the examinatio­n component of the Zambia in comparison to 213 students in December last year.
