Z chief executive officer, onna ashinga, said it was for this reason that the institute would soon introduce major training reforms to enable accountants significantly contribute to sustained economic development.
e was speaking in Lusaka at a media briefing to announce the une 0 , Z examination results.
he reforms, r ashinga said, in the accountancy training would enhance financial reporting, which was a key mechanism in driving society and economic activities.
“Z will next month announce major training reforms which are across cutting.
These reforms are intended to make education value proposition across all Z ualifications even more competitive and market responsive,” he said.
eanwhile, r ashinga said the institution witnessed a drop of over , 000 in the number of examination entries for une 0 compared to over ,
000 entries recorded in ecember last year.
his represents a
. percent decrease examination entries recorded in December 0 . r ashinga said of the about , 000 entries for une examinations, over , 000 were absent representing a percent absenteeism rate compared to . percent last year.
“ he decrease in examinations entries is a source of worry to us because when students do not write examinations, it takes them a longer time to complete the ualifications which is not in the best interests of the students or the nation at large,” r ashinga said.
e said of those who sat for the examinations,
, entries were male candidates while ,0 entries were female candidates.
r ashinga said the overall pass rates for all programmes had however continued being impressive.
He also said 81 students completed the examination component of the Zambia in comparison to 213 students in December last year.
