Your days are numbered, PF warns Laura

- By SILUMESI MALUMO and KALOBWE BWALYA

THE Patriotic Front (PF) has warned self-styled civil rights activist Laura Miti to stop labeling President Edgar Lungu as a tribalist.

And the PF says it needs more members to join it because politics is about numbers.

Secretary general Davies Mwila said the PF did not segregate against any tribe or region because it was a party for everyone, the reason it had continued winning elections comfortably since 2011.

It would therefore embrace everyone equally.

Mr Mwila warned Ms Miti that her days were numbered; that it was wrong for her to accuse the head of State of being a tribalist.

He said President Lungu embraced all the tribes in Zambia because he was the father of the nation.

Therefore, the PF would not tolerate Ms Mitti’s malicious accusations aimed at attracting the attention of her funders and inciting hatred towards the President.

Mr Mwila said it was wrong for Ms Mitti to talk about tribalism when it was being denounced by every Zambian.

He said Ms Mitti should be sober in her language because the ruling party would not take kindly to her continued attacks targeting President Lungu. Mr Mwila advised Ms Mitti to distance the President from strong accusations in her drive to please her pay masters who were bankrolling her smear campaign.

"We know that Laura eats by talking. That is how she gets money from donors, but we want to tell her that she must stop accusing the head of State,” he said.

And the PF says it wants more members to join it because politics is about numb.

Mr Mwila said the ruling party did not segregate against anyone or group of people because it was a party for everyone and would treat and embrace everyone equally. He was speaking when he officially received former United Party for National Development 2021 South Africa chapter chairman Bizwell Mutale.

Mr Mutale, a businessman based in South Africa, resigned at the PF secretariat in Lusaka yesterday.
