‘FINISH INSTALLING STREETLIGH­TS IN MTENDERE’

MTENDER E Residents have called on the Lusaka City Council to finish the installati­on of streets lights in the township.

Another resident Mr Joseph Lungu said many people were being mugged in the night because the place was in darkness as there were no street lights. Mr Lungu said the local authority should not wait until someone gets killed before they decide to move in and complete what should have been done a long time ago.

He said the fear was that with load shedding in the country, attacks by the fluff boys was likely to increase but however, with solar street light they would be a bit of security.

Mr Lungu complained other townships had solar street lights, so what was causing the delay in Mtendere.

“We need solar street lights in our township as well so please, stop dilly-dallying and provide us the much needed service,” he said.
