Masupa canes hypocrites

-

INDEPENDENT Churches of Zambia (ICOZ) board chairperson David Masupa has said that it is sad that some opposition political parties are calling for an early general election on the pretext of economic challenges.

Bishop Musupa said it was unfortunate that the United Party for National Development (UPND) was citing the rise in prices of commodities as the reason to go to the polls early. He told ZNBC News in a statement that Mr Hichilema should stop making comparisons of the UNIP and current governments. Bishop Musupa has since urged the opposition leader to come up with strategies that would unite and not divide Zambians. Meanwhile, The Patriotic Front (PF) in Lusaka Province has condemned attacks on President Edgar Lungu by Democratic Party leader Harry Kalaba in some sections of the media. Lusaka Province secretary Kennedy Kamba told ZNBC News that the path of insults that Mr Kalaba had chosen would not take him anywhere. Mr Kamba said President Lungu had the best interests of all Zambians. UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema must immediately withdraw his unreasonable ultimatum to President Edgar Lungu over the 48 houses and apologise to the nation for toying around with the presidency, Lusaka district chairperson David Silubanje has said. Mr. Silubanje said yesterday he was boggled that a person of Mr. Hichilema’s standing in society could reduce himself to issuing fake ultimatums to matters that were supposed to be dealt with by investigative wings. He said Mr. Hichilema’s ultimatum was not only misguided as it was supposed to have been directed to the ACC, but was also a show of no respect to the Head of State because he was not entrusted with investigative responsibilities.
