David Ramusho ward committee dissolved
DAVID Ramusho ward committee in Kabwe has been dissolved for failing to form a quorum during a meeting called in the area, Central Province Patriotic Front chairperson, Chanda Mutale has said.
And Mr Mutale has suspended all the activities of the ward development committee (WDC) until further notice.
He called for a meeting to resolve differences among the councillor, Patrick Mumba, former ward chairperson, Hendrick Simbeye, WDC and the community over land wrangles that have persisted in the area for some time.
Land wrangles have divided PF members in the ward with some accusing the former ward chairman of being at the centre of the impasse while others blame the ward councillor.
Mr Mutale who was visibly annoyed told the former ward chairman, Mr Simbeye that he was disappointed to only find a handful of ward executive members when he arrived for the meeting around 14:30 hours held on Thursday afternoon in Makandanyama area.
He demanded an explanation from Mr Simbeye as to why most ward committee members were not present at the meeting but he (Mr Simbeye) could not give a satisfactory answer to the provincial provincial chairman.
Mr Mutale said the dissolved committee would be replaced by an interim committee that would be chosen by party members at the district level to be chaired by the district chairperson, Richard Bango.
“I am dissolving the ward committee because you have failed to give me a quorum for this meeting and it will be replaced by an interim committee to be put in place the district chairman,” said Mr Mutale.
