CHIKANKATA District Council is disappointed with the poor attendance by stakeholders during the commemoration of this
year s ecentralisation
Week held at the civic centre.
Mr Nawa Alisinda said the Decentralisation Week was so important that it should be commemorated by all stakeholders in the district.
Mr Alisindi was speaking during the commemoration of the Decentralisation Week.
He said despite high publicity by the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) about the event, few stakeholders attended the function.
Council deputy chairperson Shepherd Mweene urged the organising committee to ensure future commemorations of such nature were organised properly.
Mr Mweene said the Decentralisation Week was the time the local authorities were expected to showcase the services they were providing to the communities as well as sharing knowledge among themselves about the new Decentralisation Policy being implemented by the central government.
He said the community should be fully involved during such commemorations because the local authority was serving it as its core mandate. - ZANIS.
Mr Mulunda was speaking when held a meeting with residents aimed at keeping himself abreast with the challenges they were facing.
