‘National Day of Prayer for all Zambians’

- By SANDRA MACHIMA

THE National Day of Prayer and Reconciliation is not meant for a few individuals, but is a national event for every Zambia, New Congress Party leader Peter Chanda has said.

Mr Chanda said those who shunned prayers would still be saved because Zambia was a Christian nation and with Christian principles.

Mr Chanda noted that the country was faced with climate change and a resurgence of political violence, which needed prayers from all Zambians.

He commended those who attended the prayers and urged Zambians not to shun important national events regardless of political affiliation for unity and reconciliation.

Mr Chanda said Zambians needed to find the will, strength and conviction to reconcile with each other and seek God for Him to intervene in various challenges they were facing.

He appealed to Zambians not to be misled by some politicians who were only interested in their personal agendas and misleading the nation on the issues that could not change without seeking wisdom from God.

Mr Chanda said President Lungu had a responsibility as the republican leader to provide to Zambians and urged citizen to pray for leadership so that they could provide according to expectations.

On Friday, Zambias from different walks of life participated in in prayers during the National Day of Prayer, Fasting, Repentance and Reconciliation, under the theme, “Receiving times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord through reconciliation with one another and the environment for a prosperous Zambia.”

Receiving times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord through reconciliation with one another and the environment for a prosperous Zambia.”
