TWO KALULUSHI SCHOOLS GET CLASSROOM BLOCKS
A TOTAL of K830,000 has been spent on the construction of two 1 x 3 classroom blocks at Chavuma Secondary School and Mugala Primary school in Kalulushi constituency
The two 1 x 3 classroom blocks were constructed under the Kalulushi Constituency Development Funds (CDF), which was yet to churn out other projects to benefit the people in the area.
Kalulushi Member of Parliament Kampamba Mulenga said she was happy that the project had been completed, adding that she was grateful to other stakeholders for the support rendered
Ms Mulenga, who is also Community Development Minister, was speaking at the handover of the two projects and urged the school authorities and pupils to guard the infrastructure jealously
“As I hand over these two projects, I must stress that we need to jealously look after this infrastructure because government has spent a lot of money.
“A total of K830,000 has been spent on the construction of two 1 x 3 classroom blocks at Chavuma Secondary school and Mugala Primary school. This is aimed at increasing the number school places,’’ Ms Mulenga said.
And speaking at the same occasion, Kalulushi Mayor Rashida Mulenga said the handover of the two 1x3 class room blocks was a clear example of prudent utilisation of the CDF by the local authority.
Ms Mulenga said in a speech read for her by Deputy Mayor Paul Chivunda that proper management and utilisation of Government resources was critical in achieving equitable distribution of development to the people in the District.
‘’As a local authority, I must say that we are proud to be part of the handing over ceremony of the two 12 x 3 classroom blocks because it demonstrates council’s prudent utilisation of the CDF
“We believe prudent utilisation of public resources is critical in distributing development to various people in the district regardless of their status in society,’’ Ms Mulenga said
Present at the occasion were District Commissioner Kenny Siachisumo, Kalanga Ward councillor Percely Chibuye, Ichimpe Ward councillor Harrison Malunga , among others.
