Nansanga Farm Block gets facelift
THE Lusaka City Council (LCC) will soon start issuing title deeds to residents in high density areas to enable them access financial solutions such as loans.
This will be done through an empowerment programme in partnership with a company from the United States (US).
Lusaka Mayor, Miles Sampa, said the empowerment programme was designed to ensure that people from high density areas had access to financial empowerment.
Mr Sampa said this yesterday in Lusaka when Atlasmara handed over two houses to winners under the Switch and Win Campaign which was done in partnership with Nkwashi House.
The Mayor said that title financial institutions security," he said.
Mr Sampa advised people not to construct houses on drainage systems as it caused flooding during the rainy season.
AtlasMara Managing Director, James Koni, said his institution’s focus revolved around customers and their financial needs, hence its heavy Investment in various digital platforms.
Mr Koni explained that the switch and win campaign had been an exciting opportunity which was extended to all customers that switched their salary account to Atlas Mara Bank.
"We ensured that the winners were drawn from all over the country through a transparent selection overseen by our audit partners.
"The campaign was not only about the two houses and cash prizes, it also came with additional perks such as access to a salary advance of up to K30,000 at 0 percent payable over a three month period," he said.
Mr Koni said the employer would not provide for all financial solutions to help meet the customer needs and that was why the bank was providing tailor made solutions to help create wealth.
Nkwashi representative, Tamara Banda, said the estate company would continue building cities, sustainable community and invest in African estates.
"This partnership has pulled us a step closer to realising our ultimate goal. Our partnership with Atlas Mara has changed lives for the better in particular to the two families that have won the house today, who can now call themselves home owners," Ms Banda said. need
THE upgrading of infrastructure at the Nansanga Farm Block in Serenje has commenced to encourage investment.
Government’s investmen vehicle, the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), would engage co-venture partners to get the farm block functional.
Group Chief Executive Officer, Mateyo Kaluba, said a consultant was currently on the ground conducting an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment before development commenced.
Mr Kaluba said IDC was simultaneously conducting an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and engaging possible joint venture partners. He explained in an interview in Lusaka that one of the key things the co-venture partners were asking for was the Environmental and Social Impact Analysis and Settlement Action Plan.
Mr Kaluba said the Nansanga Farm Block had been a source of concern for a Government.
He said the upgrading of the infrastructure had therefore started as IDC engaged co-venture partner.
“The Nansanga Farm Block has been a source of concern, unfortunately what had happened with some of the infrastructure that were initially constructed need to be upgraded,” Mr Kaluba said.
Mr Kaluba said in some sections of the farm block, there are some occupants that need to be resettled.
