KITWE PF CADRES CANE ‘ABSENTEE’ CHAIR

- By ROGERS KALERO

SOME

Patriotic Front (PF) cadres in Kitwe have accused District Chairman Evaristo Chilufya and his vice John Chilupula of being passive and absentee leaders.

The cadres, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the two ‘absentee’ leaders were not adding any value to the party and called for immediate remedy from the provincial executive committee.

The cadres accused Mr Chilufya of being a stooge of the enemies of the party, while his vice was in a ‘‘World of his own.’’

When contacted, Mr Chilupula admitted that there was no coordination between him and his chairman.

Mr Chilupula said the district chairman did not communicate with him

regarding any party programmes and did not also delegate any duties.

“So in this situation, where there is no coordination between the chairman and myself, where the chairman does not delegate anything which was needed to be done in his absence, there is nothing I can do,’’ Mr Chilupula said

But Mr Chilufya vented his anger on cadres accusing him of being an absentee chairman, saying they were, in fact, absentee cadres who did not understand his programmes.

He said he was at the farm harvesting maize and would be back in the PF district office on June 10, 2020 for party programmes.

“Those accusing me of being an absentee chairman, they are the ones who are absentee cadres who don’t know what I am doing. They don’t come to the office. Right now, I was talking to the District women chairlady Alice Siabula, she was briefing me on something.

“I am at the farm, I will be coming to the party office on June 10, 2020. So people should not talk anyhow. I have my own programme which I follow,’’ Mr Chilufya said.
