Chief Mwamba wants more people to obtain NRCs

-

SENIOR Chief Mwamba of Kasama has called on his subjects to take advantage of the ongoing mobile National Registration Cards (NRCs) exercise to obtain the document.

The traditional leader said NRCs were useful documents not only for voting purposes but as an identity for citizens of the country.

"We are encouraging people to obtain NRC's so that they could register as voters and elect leaders of their choice in the 2021 general elections," Senior Chief Mwamba said.

The senior chief particularly appealed to the youth to take the mobile NRC issuance exercise seriously.

“I am asking all my subjects, especially the youth to take this exercise seriously so that you can obtain the national document,” Senior Chief Mwamba said.

Meanwhile, the Senior Chief has implored political parties to unite as the country heads to the 2021 general elections.

He noted that unity among politicians is cardinal for the development of the nation.

Senior Chief Mwamba made the remarks when United Progressive Party leader Saviour Chishimba called on him at his palace in Kasama.

Earlier, Dr Chishimba hailed Government for grading the road leading to the palace which was previously in a deplorable state.

Government recently launched the first phase of the 2020 mobile NRC issuance exercise which covers Northern, Luapula, North Western, Eastern and Copperbelt Provinces. - ZANIS. (UPP) leader Saviour Chishimba
