Council chiefs shuffled

MONZE Town Council Secretary Benson Bweenje has been transferred to Namwala Town Council and replaced with his counterpart from Kabompo Town Council, Pythias Samakonga

In his farewell message, Mr Bweenje called on workers at the local authority to help the new Council Secretary to quickly settle in the new office.

Mr Bweenje said this would help in ensuring that there was continuity in the local authority’s operations.

And Mr Samakonga paid tribute to his predecessor, saying that his counterpart worked hard in making sure Monze district changed its face.

“I am convinced that my brother (Bweenje) worked well in management and you our employees. It is therefore my appeal that; we work together and make our people’s lives better,” he said.

Mr Samakonga said he was positive that the same spirit demonstrated during the tenure of Mr Bweenje would be exhibited by all workers.

“I want to appreciate the outgoing council secretary, the Director of Works and the District Planning Officer when we went around inspecting some nearby projects for what they have done. I appreciate the works my colleague has done which means you were in good working relationship with him.

“The same spirit you rendered to him and everyone else I beg of you to also do it to me. When we produce good results people will not say the council secretary has done a good job but they will say Monze Town Council has done a good job,” he said.
