Lungu urges MPS to be humble

BE humble and respectful to the electorate to climb to greater levels, President Edgar Lungu has advised Members of Parliament. President Lungu said he was spotted by late President Michael Sata when he was an MP in Chawama and uplifted to higher levels because of being humble and respectful to the electorate. The President said this during a rally in Mwansabombwe to drum up support for the Patriot Front candidate in Friday’s parliamentary by-election, Mr Kabaso Kapampi. He urged Mr Kapampi to be humble and respectful to the electorate once ushered into office. President Lungu advised Mr Kapampi not to forget about the people who would usher him into office but that he must visit the constituency regularly to know about their challenges. And the President urged citizens not to listen to lies that the PF government was not doing anything. He said citizens were witnesses to the massive development the PF had delivered within a short period. President Lungu urged the people of Mwansabombwe to vote for Mr Kapampi because he would lobby for development from ministers. “Be humble and listen to the people who put you into office if you want to succeed and excel. You have to respect electorates. I was also MP and President Sata spotted me because I was listening, humble and respectful to the electorate,” he said. President Lungu assured Mwansabombwe residents that water challenges and the hurdles they were facing with the FISP programme would be sorted out immediately. Meanwhile, PF secretary general, Davies Mwila, called on Mwansabombwe residents to vote for Mr Kapampi.
