- By MICHAEL MIYOBA

THE big six preseason preparatory tourney kicks off this afternoon with intriguing fixtures involving Super Division clubs at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

The tournament, organised by CAF Confederations Cup envoys Napsa Stars will see teams such as Aggrey Chiyangi's drilled Green Eagles, Green Buffaloes, Indeni FC, Forest Rangers and Zanaco gauging their readiness for the new soccer season set to kick off on October 17.

After announcing the signing of left back Lawrence Chungu on a free transfer, Napsa Stars begin the tournament with a tie against National Division one league champions Indeni who are preparing for Super Division battles.

"Yes we will use this tournament to prepare for continental games but our main objective in this tournament is to improve the fitness of the players, the fitness of the team.

We will use the tournament to try out the new players," said NAPSA Stars coach Mohammed Fathi.

Indeni Coach Dabid Chilufya is hoping his charges will do well in the tournament.

Bilton Musonda's tutored Green Buffaloes will host Ndola outfit Forest Rangers who are preparing for their maiden appearance in the CAF Champions League.

It is a good test for Tenant Chilumba's boys who will be making a historical appearance in the CAF Champions League after Forest Rangers finished the 2019/2020 Super Division as runners up.

Tomorrow's action will see Forest Rangers playing Green Eagles as Napsa Stars engage Chris Kaunda's Zanaco in a Lusaka derby.

Meanwhile, City of Lusaka has qualified to the National Division One League with a game to spare after coming from behind to beat Petauke United 2-1 in a group A fixture played at Lilayi Police College.

City will today play Southern Province outfit Livingstone Pirates who are looking for nothing but a win to advance to the Eden League.
