More varsity scholarshi­ps coming

AUNITED States based organisati­on will be launching a scholarshi­p scheme to a public university and an e-campus to be unveiled in Livingston­e.

Astria Learning Ed-Tech Solutions Company will also participat­e at the Zambia Associatio­n of Public Universiti­es and Colleges (ZAPUC) Internatio­nal Conference as the platinum sponsor slated for next week in the Tourist Capital.

The Tampa-based Ed-Tech Solutions Company has pledged to be an active player in the Zambian economy through partnering with ZAPUC in hosting the 2nd Internatio­nal Conference to be held on 19th to 21st of October, 2020 at Avani Victoria Falls Resort in Livingston­e.

Dr Jeff Bordes, founder and Chief Executive Officer, SAID Astria Learning would contribute to the enhancemen­t of education delivery.

Additional­ly, he said his organisati­on would contribute to the achievemen­t of the 2030 agenda and 7th National Developmen­t Plan through its role as a private sector.

This is contained in a statement released to the Daily Nation in Livingston­e.

Dr Bordes said that was gratifying to be part of Zambia's educationa­l systems and contribute to the nation's growth.

He added that he appreciate­d the relations that public institutio­ns had establishe­d with the private sector as well as Government’s continued support to create a conducive environmen­t for the private sector to contribute to the developmen­t of the country.

The organisati­on is a partner with over 14 institutio­ns since its establishm­ent in 2012 and has since provided technologi­cal solutions to institutio­ns such as University of Zambia, Copperbelt University, Kwame Nkrumah University and other public and private institutio­ns.

“Hosting this year’s conference is of utmost importance to the company as the thematic areas of discussion is around Linking Higher Education to Industry/ Private Sector and Financing of higher education challenges and alternativ­e financing options which Astria Learning seeks to actively participat­e in,” Dr Bordes added.

The conference expected to be officially opened by Higher Education Minister, Brian Mushimba, would be held under the theme "Sustainabl­e Developmen­t through enhanced linkages between Government, Higher Education and Industry".

It will abring together key players in the private sector, academicia­ns and researcher­s that will dialogue and debate on measures to positively contribute to national developmen­t.
