Betway renews Kitwe United, Green Buffaloes deals

SPORTS betting company Betway, has renewed its sponsorship of Zambia Super Division side Green Buffaloes Football Club, and newly promoted Kitwe United Football Club for the upcoming season of the 2020/21 MTN/FAZ Super Division set to kick off on October 24 2020.

Betway Zambia Country Manager Panji Kakube says since establishing a base in Zambia about two years ago, the betting company has come to realise that football is a unifying force in local communities, as it is the most supported sport in the country and the MTN/FAZ Super Division the most watched local league.

Kakube notes that as a sport-based business specialising in world-class betting and online entertainment,

Betway has decided to extend its sponsorship deal to the two clubs to reaffirm its commitment to raising football standards in the country, with the hope that Zambia becomes the hotspot of talent on the continent.

“This sponsorship package for the two football clubs is made to ease the cost of conducting their everyday football activities for them to operate at their optimal best. We are aware that football is a complex business venture and we know it takes a lot to administer a successful club,” Kakube said.

Our long-term vision is for the two clubs to have the best crop of players in the league, capable of representing Zambia even in continental championships,

He said that the company was looking forward to another action- packed local league season, with exciting twists and turns as they eagerly wait to see who emerges Super Division champions at the end of the season.

Last season, Buffaloes finished 11th on the table, with 38 points from 27 games played, while Kitwe United won promotion to the Super Division.
