Tips NAPSA to win
VICE President Inonge Wina has urged Zambia’s envoys in the CAF Confederations Cup Napsa Stars to triumph when they host Kenyan giants Gor Mahia in tomorrow’s pre groupsStage second leg fixture at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
Speaking when she addressed the team via a teleconference meeting, Wina said the CAF Confederations Cup trophy is an important title worth fighting for.
Wina who started her speech by paying respect to Napsa Stars coach Mohamed Fathi who lost his father on Wednesday, said she was confident they would repeat their superb play in Kenya where they beat Gor Mahia 1-0 as they aim to reach the Confederations Cup group stages.
She believes Napsa Stars will continue to produce stars who will go on to make an impact like the great football icon Kalusha Bwalya.
Meanwhile, Wina has urged 2012 AFCON winner Emmanuel Mayuka who made Zambia proud at the 2012 AFCON in Gabon with a golden boot award to keep working hard to help Napsa succeed.
“I remember Emmanuel Mayuka in 2012 when he was part of the national team. Emmanuel Keep it up, you made Zambia proud when you exhibited your prowess on the pitch at the Africa Cup.
“We want to see the reincarnation of the new and dynamic Kalusha Bwalyas’ and I know Napsa Stars will aim to produce such stars,” Wina said.
And Napsa Director General Yollad Kachinda hailed the vice president for her contribution to the development of sports.
Kachinda said the authority’s support to the club has enabled the team to perform successfully in their maiden continental football appearance.
He said the team’s good performance has exposed the players at international level and allowed Zambia to maintain the four slots in CAF club competitions.
NAPSA Stars host the Kenyans tomorrow needing a draw to progress to the group stage of the competition having won 1-0 in the first leg played last Sunday in Nairobi.
