Kafue Saints, CSS Petauke relegated from PFL
WITH only one game remaining before the Premier Futsal League (PFL) enters the play-off stage, two sides have been confirmed as relegated sides after having a rough 2020/2021 season.
Struggling Kafue Saints and CSS Petauke who were stunned 18-8 and 13-12 by Chipata George and Automotive FC respectively have been relegated after amassing three and 14 points from 17 games played in the PFL.
However all hope is not lost for Petauke who may remain in the PFL to replace DS Isoka who were suspended for failure to fulfil league matches.
Meanwhile, Kabwe K-Line maintained second position on the 10-team PFL table after completing a double over Livingstone Pirates who they edged 4-3 in a tightly contested game played over the weekend.
The win over Pirates propelled K-Line to 45 points, six points behind defending champions Automotive FC who humiliated CSS Petauke 13-2 in round 17 of league action.
Iin the PFL games played over the weekend, Kitwe Bullets collected a walk over victory over DS Isoka to maintain third position with 28 points while Siavonga Beetles were 6-4 victors over Monze George.
The win over Gorge increased Beetles chances of qualifying for the play-offs which features the best performing teams from the first and second round of the PFL.
Meanwhile, Zanaco maintained top spot in the National
Division One Futsal League after beating Efford Chabala FC 8-2 to move to 55 points.
The young bankers are one point ahead of second-placed Pioneer Avengers who beat BS Stars 5-2 in a week-20 fixture.
Lilanda Bullets recorded the beigest win of the week after thumping Mthunzi FC 29-1 while Bill FC whitewashed Tamanga Juldan 6-0.
Veterans were also at the receiving end having been bashed 9-6 by Christian Academy who maintained fifth position on the National Division One league table with 31 points.
