ZAMBEZI WEST PF REJECTED CANDIDATE GOES SOLO
AN unsuccessful PF aspiring parliamentary candidate for Zambezi West, Christabel Ngimbu, has indicated that she will be contesting the seat as an independent.
In a letter addressed to the Zambezi Town Council, Ms Ngimbu, appealed for support and cooperation as she goes solo against PF candidate, Charles Kakoma and others.
Another PF aspiring candidates, who has been left out is, Raphael Ngimbu.
Meanwhile, Amon Maviya, who was left out of the Mandevu parliamentary race, said he will remain a committed member despite not being adopted for the seat in the August 12 general elections.
In an interview, Mr Maviya said he has accepted the PF's central committee's decision not to adopt him.
He called on all PF members and supporters in Mandevu constituency to seriously mobilise support for President Lungu and the ruling party ahead of the polls.
Mr Maviya congratulated the adopted candidate for the seat Christopher Shakafuswa, who is immediate past Lusaka deputy Mayor.
He called on all his supporters to rally behind Mr Shakafuswa's candidacy.
"My warm congratulations to Mr. Shakafuswa on his adoption as PF Mandevu constituency parliamentary candidate and I pledge my total support to him.
“I call on my supporters to fully rally behind the adopted candidate," Mr. Maviya said.
He said the PF Central Committee's decision was final and called on all ruling party members in Mandevu to ensure President Lungu and the party amass resounding victory in the forthcoming polls.
