NDC squabbles rage

- By ADRIAN MWANZA and JOHN KOMBE

THE National Democratic Congress (NDC) battle for supremacy has continued with the two factions issuing more counter accusations as the Joseph Akufumba group has mocked Saboi Imboela’s team after losing elections with the Patriotic Front.

The Saboi faction has accused Mr Akafumba of masquerading as NDC leader when he was not.

And now Akafumba’s NDC Media Director Emmanuel Malite has said that Ms Imboela was being used as a mouth piece to Chishimba Kambwili and that they wanted to cause confusion after their political bid to join the PF hit a snug.

Mr Malite rubbished the statement by Mr Charles Kabwita that the Akafumba faction was eyeing the two ministerial appointments that President Hakainde Hichilema would give the Alliance partners hence going in overdrive to buy off junior members and masquerading as genuine leaders when in fact not.

“We are not going to dialogue with those people because I suspect Mr Kambwili now wants to come back in NDC after the loss by the PF where he went for greener pastures,” he said.

Mr Malite said that everyone in the party left the trio and had apologised to Mr Akafumba for making a wrong move of joining the then ruling party. He said that tables had turned and that the new regime did not tolerate lawlessness therefore they would deal with them if they continued with this trend.

Mr Malite said that it was unfortunate that the Imboela camp was propagating lies that the UPND would only give the Alliance partners only two ministerial positions.

Meanwhile, NDC national mobilisation chairman, Joseph Kasonde denounced the alleged squabbles in the party by a member of the Imboela faction describing them as malicious.
