K329, 000 injected in Serago Motor Rally

SARAGO Motor Company has injected a total sponsorship of K329, 000 in this weekend’s Sarago Motor Rally organised by the Lusaka Motor Sports Club to be held at Rephidim Institute in Lusaka West.

And the Lusaka Motor Sporting Club has assured safety for fans and all stakeholders at the event.

Sarago Motor Company general manager Victor Kabwiku said they were committed to ensure the growth and development of the sport in Zambia hence the decision to partner with the Zambia Motor Sports Association and the Lusaka Motor Sporting Company in organising the weekend’s event. Kabwiku said that the company has put in a winning prize amounting to $1, 000 for each winner in all the three categories plus an additional $1, 000 for the overall winner.

He added that the company has also pledged to sponsor next month’s International Motor Rally and will pump in K175, 000 into the competition.

“For this sponsorship, we are sponsoring K50, 000 cash and other supporting material to the event. We shall also sponsor the Zambia International Rally next month to which we are pledging to sponsor K175, 000 cash plus other supporting materials,” Kabwiku said.“In this Covid era we thought it wise to encourage our drivers for their good effort, so we are putting in a prize for all the four categories with $1, 000 for each winner in all the categories and the overall winner will get an additional $1, 000 and our total sponsorship for the event is K329, 000.”

And ZMSA president Sam Chingambu announced the resumption of international motor rally competitions which were halted due to a surge in Covid-19 cases and scheduled for next month.

Fifteen teams have entered this weekend's Sarago Motor Rally.
