…Nyirenda and 14 players ditch Lusaka Dynamos

FORMER Chipolopol­o coach Wedson “Wada Wada” Nyirenda says he is now a free agent after damping struggling Lusaka Dynamos FC.

And Lusaka Dynamos have finally confirmed the departure of 14 players who have left the club due to its alleged failure to pay their salaries.

Nyirenda, who watched from the terraces as Lusaka Dynamos suffered a 4-0 thrashing by Zesco United in the Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield confirmed leaving Lusaka Dynamos via a post on his official tweeter account.

The veteran coach who has won titles with Zesco United and Zanaco said he is now a free agent waiting for clubs wishing to win titles to engage him.

“Wada” thanked the players who he worked with at Lusaka Dynamos where he managed to win the 2021 ABSA Cup after beating Zesco United 3-1 on penalties in the final played on April 24 at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.

“I am pleased to officially announce I left Lusaka Dynamos FC. I would like to thank the sponsor and club at large. I will always love you. To players, I say thank you for your time together. You are champs.

“I am now a free agent waiting for who else wants to lift titles or trophies,” Nyirenda said.

Meanwhile, Lusaka Dynamos Public Relations Officer, Rabecca Mumba who could not confirm reports of players leaving due to unpaid salaries noted that the club has released eight players while contracts for two players were not renewed.

Mumba noted that Moyela Lubanda has moved on a permanent transfer to Indeni while Gershom Mwale, Ramsey Mwaka and Derick Mulaya have been sent on loan to unnamed clubs.
