Bullets, Petauke seek winning tonic

AFTER being crushed by Lu saka Avengers in last week end’s Football Associatio­n of Zambia (FAZ) Premier Futsal League (PFL) fixture, Kitwe Bullets will seek recovery when they host CSS Petauke to finish the first round on third position.

With the FAZ/PFL sched uled to break for the Christ mas holidays, Bullets will seek to finish the first round on a high by picking their sixth win of the season.

However, today’s game is another tough test for Witson Nyirenda’s sharpened Bullets who will be facing a side seek ing to bounce back from a 4-2 defeat to BS Stars.

Despite having been very inconsiste­nt with three wins, five losses and one draw, CSS Petauke are seen as tough competitor­s capable of upset ting the odds.

Bullets’ coach Nyirenda believes his boys are ready to fight after the disappoint­ing loss to Lusaka Avengers last weekend.

“We are ready for Petauke. We were unfortunat­e to lose to Avengers but we have worked on the mistakes we made and we are hoping to pick a win so that we can end the first round on a good note,” Nyirenda said.

Second-placed Kabwe K-Line will target to extend their winning streak when they face Siavonga Beetles af ter beating Chipata Boys 6-2 in their last fixture.

K-Line have only endured one defeat to defending cham pions Lusaka Automotive and a win over Beetles will guaran tee a top-two first round finish with 27 points.

In other FAZ/PFL fixtures scheduled for this weekend, BS Stars will seek a historical win over the league leaders Automotive who are still un beaten after nine rounds of games played in the first half of the PFL league.

Chipata Boys will seek re demption when they face re juvenated Livingston­e Pirates who picked their second win of the season after beating Kafue Celtics 6-0 last weekend.

Meanwhile the game involv ing Kafue Celtics and Lusaka Avengers has been postponed to next year.
