Misinformation has potential to cause anarchy, says UPND South

- By OLIVER SAMBOKO

THE continued spread of misinformation by some desperate politicians if not stopped can put this country on fire, says UPND Southern Province chairperson Billard Makwembo.

Mr Makwembo said government should ensure that those spreading lies and misinformation are stopped to avoid the country degenerating into divisions.

He said they are aware that aim of the Patriotic Front is to cause anarchy and make the country ungovernable so that the blame can be heaped on the new dawn administration.

Mr Makwembo said now that President Hakainde Hichilema has clarified and explained the military cooperation with the United States, the PF should be ashamed of itself for trying to mislead Zambians and the international community that the country intended to allow the Americans to set up a military base in the country.

“They must now be ashamed for misleading the public that the UPND government wanted to allow USA troops to establish a military base in the country,” he said.

Mr Makwembo said the party will not allow the PF to continue spreading lies as this has potential to create problems for the country.

He said it’s unfortunate that the former ruling party has found it fashionable to lie to the Zambian people when not a long time, the same party unleashed propaganda against the UPND and President Hakainde Hichilema which people rejected.

Mr Makwembo said the PF was full of ungrateful and unrepentant individuals who even after being forgiven by President Hichilema for the evil things they did to him while they were in power, have continued to behave in the same manner.
