CHIEF KASOMA LUNGA PLEADS FOR POWER IN HIS CHIEFDOM

CHIEF Kasoma Lunga has appealed to the Rural Electrific­ation Authority (REA) to expedite the electrifi cation project in his chiefdom because it has stalled for a long time.

Chief Kasoma Lunga expressed disappoint­ment with the former regime for allegedly failing to install power in the area despite putting up electricit­y poles.

The chief has since called on the new REA board to quickly finish up on what was left by their predecesso­rs as people are anxious to have power.

He said his chiefdom will ensure that they work close ly with the UPND government so that power is installed in Lunga, one of the new districts in Luapula Province.

The traditiona­l leader was speaking when REA board members paid a courtesy call on him.

He said people are ready to pay for electricit­y and be moaned the fact that the project started in 2016 by the gov ernment had stalled.

He described the Patriotic Front administra­tion as liars and unfaithful.

“We don’t want politician­s that do not fulfil their promises, therefore I call upon the new REA board members to fulfil their promise and ensure that power is installed in the area,” said Chief Kasoma.
