160 Kanchibiya CDF bursary applicants selected
OVER 160 applicants who applied for skills development under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) bursaries in Kanchibiya have been selected.
Kanchibiya Town Council Planning Officer (DPO) Charles Simukonda disclosed the development during a stakeholders’ meeting in yesterday. Mr. Simukonda said the CDF committee oncluded the selection process of skills development bursaries scheme for all the 10 wards in the district.
He pointed out that the 163 selected applicants for skills development will be sponsored under the first quarter funding of CDF 2022.
He has expressed happiness that the number of applicants who applied for skills development in the district is encouraging. He added that all the skilled development bursaries funds allocated under the first quarter CDF 2022 will be exhausted to sponsor the 163 students.
“We had a lot of people that applied for skills development Bursaries but others where not selected because they did not meet the recommended qualifications,” said Mr. Simukonda.
And speaking at the same meeting, Kanchibiya District Commissioner Chrispin Chilekwa said the selected applicants are expected to report in the various learning institutions by August this year .
Mumbubu Ward Development Committee Chairperson Happy Chileshe has thanked the government for introducing the skill bursaries funds, adding that this will greatly help a lot of people coming from financially vulnerable families. – ZANIS.
