POWER Dynamos opened a seven-point lead at the summit of the MTN/FAZ Super League table after humiliating relegation bound Buildcon FC 5-0 in a week-26 fixture played yesterday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

A hat-trick from Congolese international Andy Boyeli and goals apiece from man of the match Frederick Mulambia and Thomas Chideu gifted Power Dynamos the win which increased their chances of winning the Super League title for the first time in 13 years.

After a goalless first half, the floodgates were opened just six minutes into the second half thanks to Mulambia who tapped the ball into the back of the net to give Power the lead.

Ten minutes later Boyele doubled Power’s advantage with a low close range strike after benefitting from Joshua Mutale’s assist.

Boyeli completed his brace and propelled his goal tally to 13 goals with a goal in the 70 minute after benefiting from Mulambia’s pass inside the sixteen yard box.

To complete his hat trick, Boyeli had to be in the right place at the right time to direct Jackson Mulambya’s cross into the back of the net.

Super sub Chideu made things worse for Buildcon by scoring Power’s fifth goal from a penalty he won when a Buildcon defender handled the ball inside the 18-yard box.

The exciting 5-0 win over Buildcon propelled the league leaders to 50 points, seven points ahead of second-placed Green Buffaloes who were 2-1 winners over Lumwana Radiants on Saturday.
