CEC Liquid in modest US$30k sponsorship deal with Power Dynamos -

-

“The coming on board of CEC Liquid to join hands with CEC Plc is a great move that should be emulated by other corporate stakeholders in the private sector to support football,” Kamanga said.

Power Dynamos finished the 2017 season in sixth (6th) position and has since opened the 2018 season on a good note having triumphed over newly promoted Kabwe Youth Academy 4-2 in first game of the 2018 Zambian premier league football season.

The Zambian premier league continues to strive to attain credible financing with the winners of the MTN headline sponsored premier league attracting a modest ZMW500,000 (about US$50,000) for the winning team.

Though this US$50,000 was a 100% improvement from the previous seasons, the amounts remain modest considering the sizes of the football teams as well as the effort to fulfil the entire league fixture.

The main challenge to Zambian local league football however remains its inability to attract huge crowds. This is the first and foremost requirement that the current football administrators at both club levels and FAZ need to resolve as getting the crowds, increasing memberships and filling up the stadiums

Improved memberships and filled stadiums will lead to better negotiated TV rights, more gate taking for the hosting clubs as well as ability to attract lucrative and credible sponsorships and marketing deals.
