LAFARGE Cement Zimbabwe is listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange. It manufactur­es and distribute­s cement and allied products for the building industry. Formerly known as Circle Cement, the company is a subsidiary of the Lafarge Group.

The cement product range includes Portland composite cement which is the cement used in beams, foundation­s and load-bearing structures; Supaset, used by concrete brick makers and home-builders; Masonry cement, used for general constructi­on work such as screed flooring, brick and mortar and plastering mortar.

Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe also sells a range of allied products which include washed sand, 6-mm stones, 20-millitre stones and crusher run.

Specialise­d products include Agricultur­al lime, Colorbrite and Snolime, pre-sanded Cemwash and Impermo.

Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe Limited appointed Geoffrey Ndugwa as the Chief Executive Officer with effect from 15 December 2021.

Prior to his appointmen­t to this role, Geoffrey was the Chief Executive Officer for Lafarge Malawi from December 2019 to November 2021.

Geoffrey brings extensive experience in the cement industry spanning over 17 years working in various capacities across Africa.

Some of his notable appointmen­ts in the past include being the Commercial Director for Bamburi Group in Kenya; General Manager Innovation and Marketing for Lafarge WAPCO Nigeria

PLC; General Manager Bamburi Special Products Limited Kenya; Head of Business Support Barclays Bank of Uganda and Sales Manager for Hima Cement Limited.

Geoffrey holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administra­tion from Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh Business School), a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Engineerin­g Honours Civil Engineerin­g Degree from the University of East London.
