Hotspurs cement Mat North log lead Toronto still on top of Byo league despite draw

LOG leaders Hotspurs Leopards consolidat­ed their position at the top of the Zifa Matabelela­nd North Division 2A League after edging troubled Amagagasi Under-19 2-1 at Ralyton ground in Dete on Sunday.

Goals by Macdonald Furau and Courage Ngulube ensured the Dete-based Leopards remain the only side yet to drop a point as the race entered Week 3.

Ambitious Baobab Rovers moved into second position thanks to a 5-0 demolition of basement side Corinthian­s at Chinotimba Stadium on Sunday.

We are just going to take each game as it comes and hopefully we will improve with time,” Mlambo said.

In other matches, How Mine jumped from sixth place to second following a 4-1 win over Lupane State Univeristy (LSU) United. Goals from Innocent Sibanda, Patrick Ngoma, Qiniso Ndlovu and Rasmond James were enough for How Mine to grab maximum points, while LSU’s consolatio­n cam from Denzel Pamadzi.
