Cultivate an attitude of gratitude
1 Thessalonians 5 vs 16 - 18
“REJOICE always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
Most people have created an internal mechanism for themselves that automatically sways to finding fault and complaining. They find it difficult to muster positivity and more importantly, to count their blessings one by one and live in awe of He who makes all things possible.
I watched an interesting documentary about a country that had virtually been isolated for decades, where most of the cars that ply the streets stem from the early fifties.
In this country that was left behind by time, one of the motor enthusiasts, who happens to be a mechanic, made a profound statement.
He spoke about how, because of the embargo against his country, they had to improvise, invent and fix in order to keep the existing cars, which were now out of production, running.
He went on to say, “Why complain about what you do not have when you have so much already. You should just learn to work with what you have and make the best of what you have been given. Why should I work myself to a heart attack, illness and misery? I just have to get on with it and find happiness from my lot.”
So much time is spent lamenting and complaining, and so little time is spent just praising the LORD and being thankful. Look at everything that is in your life, regardless of where you may be or what you may be doing, and make the best of what the LORD has provided.
Find meaning in your blessings and be the best you can be, like the LORD intended. Don’t focus on what you don’t have but rather on what is before you.
With very little, GOD can create insurmountable beauty, let Him help you do the same. Allow your mind to wonder, create and perform, by faith.
Be blessed
