“We are looking forward to learning from Proudly South African and strengthen the Buy Zimbabwe campaign. We are grateful for this union as we will have access to the models that made South Africa successful,” he said.

“As the Zimbabwe’s secretariat of the local content policy development, we endeavour to draw critical lessons from our South African counterparts in institutionalising and implementing local content policies.”

Mr Hwengwere invited stakeholders to support the initiative and tap into potential cooperation synergies. He said his organisation was interested in promoting the growth of the Zimbabwean economy.

“We are also interested in growing markets beyond our countries. What you will see after this agreement is initiatives where we will bring organisations from South Africa that are looking into the Zimbabwean market and we will also take Zimbabwean companies that are members of Buy Zimbabwe into the South African market,” said Mr Hwengwere.
