A better resolution

-

Psalm 119 vs 156

“Great are your tender mercies, O Lord; Revive me according to your judgments.”

At the beginning of every year, it has become a tradition for many people to make resolutions about the things they hope to do, or change, in the course of the year. As is tradition, a few months or days into the year those noble ideas fall away and the intention becomes a memory of what was meant to be.

Very few people aspire to change the course of their life through a resolution that says, “This year I want to be revived, I want to be a better Christian. I want to feel the presence of the LORD and for others to feel the change in my life.”

We seek to achieve so many things but seldom do we pray for a revival of our spirits, for the LORD to change us for the better and for His presence to manifest in our lives. We say endless prayers for the things we desire and hope for and we cry out to the LORD for Him to grant us our wishes. Imagine what an amazing power would engulf our lives if we asked the LORD to revive our spirits, strengthen us, and wash us anew?

When was the last time you asked for God’s presence to revive you, for Him to change you, and for righteousness to abound? Ask the LORD to revive you today and everything else shall follow suit. Ask Him to grant you what matters most - His spirit in you.

Be blessed
