Punish all exam cheats

-

EDITOR — I am concerned with the recent move by Government ordering the rewriting of the O’Level English Paper 2 examination. A short notice has serious impacts on children and parents.

The ministry should have thought of the costs involved. As a matter of fact it should cover all costs since they were paid and did not ensure all systems and administrators were in check.

The decision will traumatise innocent children, who were not studying while some had gone out of the country on vacation.

Imagine bringing back a child who is in America and get her to prepare for an exam in a matter of a few days.

The ministry should deal with those who leaked the paper.

This has been happening for ages and all we hear about is the news of paper leakage but nothing about the culprits being charged. We cannot go on like this. ZACC should look at Zimsec because l am sure corruption within the organisation is the root cause of all this.

Possible sources of exam leakage are those who set the exams, type them, do the printing, package them, couriers, school heads and supervisors.

All these people need to maintain professional integrity. Innocent children cannot continue to suffer because of an unorganised system.

Pride and confidence with Zimsec is lost no wonder many parents are opting for Cambridge.

Please Zimsec put your house in order or law-suits will be inevitable. Concerned parent
