Masvingo South needs network, roads upgrade

-

EDITOR — Thank you Editor for allowing me to air my views through your widely read newspaper, hoping that the responsible people will solve a problem that has existed even from the years that Dr Edson Zvobgo was the Member of Parliament for the area.

The state of the roads from Mashate to Nyikavanhu is so bad that you cannot believe the area was under the Minister of Tourism.

As a people who come from an area where there is gold, one of the most precious minerals being mined at Renco Mine, it is my suggestion that the mine assist by completing the road upgrade from Mashate to Nyikavanhu, or if the Government has that in its plan, the project should be speeded up.

Driving only 150km must not be that boring but in this case you regret visiting the area because of the bad roads.

Our President is preaching technology and we are seeing schools from other areas investing in ICT but how can our schools take the same route when the area does not have a good network reception.

Econet, NetOne and or Telecel how can you miss such an opportunity to make money? People are going on top of mountains to make phone calls in areas around Guwa township. You can not use WhatsApp or Google in the area because there is no network. Wake up and smell the coffee Masvingo. Our Member of Parliament and councillors must approach any service provider to construct a network booster.

Surely, how can people still go on top of mountains to make a phone call in this day and age.

Having said that I would like to thank the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) for a job well done as the area now has electricity. D Mabwowa Chafuka, Masvingo South RESPONSE to “President launches national ICT policy”. He is doing what a leader should do. Let us support the President and give him our votes. More is still coming. He is a leader with people at heart; slowly we are progressing .— Tommags.

RESPONSE to “Zim ready to join Commonwealth.” This needs to be done as soon as possible. We need markets for our produce. We cannot continue looking East only. — Yowe

RESPONSES to “President launches national ICT policy”. President Mnangagwa is like a veld fire — moving with speed to reform Zimbabwe. — Long Nose.

RESPONSE to “Police dismiss kidnapping reports.” This situation has been blown out of proportion by more than 10 times. Rape cases will always be there; people should not put others into unnecessary panic mode. Social media is creating more terror than the rapists. — Peter Mutisi

ICT works for agriculture, health and education. It is the backbone of every economy. President Mnangagwa is devoting his attention to each and every detail that will help our economy. Way to go Mr President. — Cde Rekai.
