Fi­l­abusi win Talen Vi­sion tour­ney

FI­L­ABUSI United won the Talen Vi­sion Top 8 inau­gu­ral tour­na­ment af­ter beat­ing Gwanda Delete 1-0 at Fi­l­abusi’s Mth­wakazi Sta­dium on Satur­day.

Fi­l­abusi United walked away with a $600 cash prize, 24 Arse­nal t-shirts and win­ners medals, while the run­ners-up walked away with $400 and run­ners-up medals.

Spon­sors of the event were Talen Vi­sion Food Court and Kevin Mar­ley Ny­athi, who is based in the UK.

The teams were grouped into two groups, with Group A con­sist­ing of Talen Vi­sion, The Venue, Gwanda Delete and Mbe­m­besi, while Group B had Far­vic, Unicerm, Bhekeni Celtic and Fi­l­abusi United.

Fi­l­abusi United won their group with seven points from a draw with Far­vic, a 1-0 win over Bhekeni Celtic and a 2-0 vic­tory against Unicerm.

Gwanda Delete qual­i­fied for the fi­nal af­ter ac­cu­mu­lat­ing five points from a draw against Talen Vi­sion, a draw against The Venue and a 3-0 win over Mbe­m­besi.

There were in­di­vid­ual prizes which saw Fi­l­abusi United scoop­ing most of them, with Manuel Ny­oni scoop­ing the goal­keeper of the tour­na­ment for keep­ing five clean sheets.

The most dis­ci­plined player went to Brat Ndlovu from Fi­l­abusi United, most promis­ing player was Ro­manio Salif from Talen Vi­sion, top goal scorer was Phakela Moyo from Mbe­m­besi.

The spon­sors as­sured the Mata­bele­land South re­gion that the tour­na­ment will be an an­nual event as they wish to de­velop tal­ent. — @De­coDe­cent2.
