FC Platinum back home

FC PLATINUM arrived in the country yesterday from Senegal where they bowed out of the CAF Confederat­ion Cup.

The Zimbabwean­s lost 1-0 to Senegal’s Jaraaf who progressed on a 2-0 aggregate after a similar 1-0 win in the first leg at the National Sports Stadium a week earlier.

In the home game, FC Platinum missed a couple of clear chances, including a first-half penalty.

Norman Mapeza’s men were relegated to the second-tier African club competitio­n after losing to

Tanzania’s Simba SC to miss out on the group stage.

The Zvishavane miners’ poor run in Africa has been blamed on lack of football in the country.

There has not been football action in Zimbabwe since last year due to Covid-19.
