POLICE CRIME WATCH UPDATE
POLICE confirms the arrest of Zandile Hadebe (20) in connection with a robbery which occurred at Centenary Park, Bulawayo on 27 April at about 1725 hours.
The suspect together with three others, who are still at large, approached two complainants who were seated and produced an okapi knife before grabbing valuables valued at US$310 and $90.
An alert passers-by observed the attack and alerted other members of the public leading to the arrest of the suspect and recovery of property valued at US$94. #notorobbery

On 26 April, police in Hwange arrested a wanted person, Zakaria Sigareta (36), in connection with robbery cases which occurred in Mabvuku and Dzivarasekwa, Harare.
The suspect was wanted for the Mabvuku robbery and upon arrest, he was found in possession of an identity card and a Toyota Wish vehicle which were stolen by means of robbery, thus linking him to a second charge. #notorobbery

On 27 April, police in Beitbridge intercepted 60 boxes of Remington cigarettes which were destined for South Afirca. The suspect (38) was stopped at a police check point driving a Toyota Hiace vehicle laden with boxes of cigarettes.
The vehicle was searched and investigations carried out revealed that the suspect intended to smuggle the contraband to SA through an undesignated exit point. #notosmuggling

The ZRP has arrested three suspects in connection with a case of unlawful entry and theft which occurred at Mncumbatha School, Bulawayo on 28 April.
Two laptops were stolen from the school and investigations by the police led to the recovery of the laptops and the arrest of the suspects.

The ZRP urges members of the public to verify or authenticate all property sales before payment or engage legal experts where necessary. A Bulawayo man (41) was swindled of 147 600 rand and US$300 by a conman after he was deceived into buying a house that did not belong to the seller.
The victim only discovered that the house did not belong to the suspect after full payment. ***
Police in Bulawayo are investigating circumstances leading to the recovery of 6.4kg of copper cables in an abandoned bag along Selous Road, Northend, Bulawayo on 29 April. The copper was in a canvas bag and the owner has not yet been established. ***
The ZRP is appealing for information which may lead to the location and arrest of a suspect, Morris Mukwendi of Kwekwe for attempted murder. The suspect ran over a female member of the ZRP at the 2,5km peg along Amaveni Road-Gokwe turn off on 30 April at 1130 hrs. The member is currently battling for life at Gweru General Hospital.
