HUNT WIELDS AXE AGAIN
CHIPPA UNITED have parted ways with their captain Isaac Nhlapo following a
mutual agreement this week.
Nhlapo has joined the likes of Oupa
Manyisa, Thokozani Sekotlong and Anthony Laffor, who have all left the Chilli Boys after helping the club survive relegation last season.
United have already appointed Gavin Hunt as their new head coach to replace Lehlohonolo Seema, who has since moved on to join Golden Arrows.
Nhlapo’s manager Mandla Mthembu has confirmed his client’s departure from the Gqeberha-based outfit.
“It’s a question of the technical team feeling that he does not feature in the direction that the club is taking. We engaged with the club chairman and came to a decision to mutually terminate,” Mthembu tells this website.
“This is in the interest of both parties because we cannot have a captain sitting on the bench and being frustrated, there is nothing untoward. Nhlapho enjoyed his time with the club and was well looked after.”
Mthembu, however, could not reveal Nhlapo’s next destination as yet.
“We are already looking for options towards the next chapter for Nhlapho.” Kick Off.
