We don’t fear Ninjas - Matore

- Monalisa John

CHICKEN INN assistant coach Prince Matore says they are not afraid of newlook Bulawayo Chiefs ahead of their Castle Lager Premiership clash at Luveve tomorrow.

Matore was in charge of the Gamecocks when they humbled Tenax 3-0 in their last match.

They dedicated the victory to head coach, Joey Antipas, who was attending the funeral of his brother, Gabriel.

Antipas is likely to be in the stands tomorrow.

“We have prepared well for this game, I can’t complain, everyone is doing his best.

“It’s a clean bill of health, everyone is good to go, they are all ready for the match,” said Matore.

He admitted it’s impossible to predict how the match will unfold given that it was a derby and a lot has changed when it comes to their opponents.

“I’m expecting the boys to apply what we have been practicing,” said Matore, who has been everywhere Antipas has gone in the past decade. “It’s a derby, anything can happen, these players know each other very well.

“They even share the same neighbourhood, so it’s difficult to conclude anything, all I know is that it’s going to be an exciting match.

“In football you don’t have to fear anyone, but you should just respect your opponents.”

The Ninjas demonstrated their hunger for success when they beat FC Platinum 2-0 last weekend. They are now on seven points, after three matches, in which they are yet to taste defeat.

If they beat the Gamecocks, it will be a huge statement of intent for the club, who are winning a lot of support, across the country, with their professionalism.
