MHERE HAILS JP, DHUTERERE
MATHIAS Mhere says he has a lot in common with Jah Prayzah, Mambo Dhuterere and Dorcas Moyo.
The 33-year-old said the trio remained resolute, during trying times, until they made it to the top in showbiz. Mhere, who started from humble beginnings, saluted the trio ahead of his 10th album launch titled ‘Thanksgiving,’ next Wednesday, at the Rainbow Towers.
“I respect Jah Prayzah, Dorcas Moyo and Mambo Dhuterere, who are coming to support me during my album launch to be held on the 18th of this month in the Jacaranda Room (Rainbow Towers).
“Jah Prayzah comes as a guest-of-honour while Mambo Dhuterere and Dorcas have been invited as special guests of the night.
“When I reflect on my journey, I see nothing but God’s grace as is the case with this trio, who defied odds to be on top,” he said.
Mhere said his album was also a celebration of life. “We are coming from a tough period where we lost our beloved ones due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which is still in our midst.
“In the last two or so years, we had lost our source of income but the Lord has been on our side. Our faith as Christians was tested by the Lord but we have remained firm and resolute to Him, hence the reason to praise the Almighty all the time.
“The trials that we went through in life have brought me closer to God and we are happy to be serving Him all the time,” he said.
Mhere, who roped in the trio of Cymplex, Gibson Makumbe and Wizzy to produce his 10th album, reckons there are no fillers on this project.
It carries 10 tracks - Mukadzi Akanaka, Taura Naye, Check Your Time, Sungano, Izita Rake, Kupfuma Ishungu, Nyasha Ndione, Shanda Mudzimai, Mukundi and Amen, featuring Gary Tight.
“I have always wanted to my sound to evolve and that is the reason why I have decided to rope in three producers.
“The three producers are some of the most sought-after people at the moment and who am I to resist to work with the best we have at the moment.
“By engaging them, I’m not saying that I have turned my back against the old producers who ushered me into the industry but I am simply evolving as an artist,” he said.
Besides, his 10th album Thanksgiving, set to be released next week, Mhere boasts of a rich catalogue of albums.
Talitakumi, Tinoda Nyasha, Anoita Minana, Nguva yeNyasha, Glory to Glory, Double Double, Old Testament, Panogara Nyasha and Greater than Solomon. Mhere has since finished shooting videos of his 10th album with Mukadzi Akanaka set to be unveiled at the album launch. The other videos will be released after the album launch, according to Mhere’s handlers.
