Bulawayo stable takes unique approach
BULAWAYO-BASED record label, Mabornfresha Entertainment, has taken a unique approach to counter the threat of drug abuse.
The stable has opened a branch, which supplies natural remedies to detoxify youths who are indulging in drugs.
The founder of Mabornfresha Entertainment, Tatenda Kaseke, said it was important to come up with solutions rather than just making campaigns against drugs, without tangible results.
Kaseke said it was disappointing to realise that a lot of youths were succumbing to drugs, and he decided to be innovative by working with Taproka, a company which deals with natural herbs, to come up with a natural remedy to detoxify those on drugs.
“I am disheartened to see many young and talented youths dying prematurely because of drugs.
“Youths should say no to drugs and, as a record label which is working with partners who clean toxins in the body system, we advise the youths to come for health check-ups,” said Kaseke.
He is also working on helping the talented youths to record for free, under Mabornfresha Entertainment, while ensuring that youths who are on drugs, should go for rehabilitation.
He said his business was not majoring in profiteering but just assisting the youths who are fighting drug addiction.
“As much as we need profits to keep going, our project is mainly motivated by helping the youths in Zimbabwe.
“Drugs are now a problem in many of our societies," he said.
Many youths are abusing strong alcoholic substances and drugs such as crystal meth, known as guka or mutoriro.
