- Paidamoyo Bore

A XIMEX Mall dealer will perform 105 hours of unpaid work after being convicted of criminal nuisance.

Initially, David Kaseke, who claimed to be an agent in the fantasy “toes-for-sale” trade, in May, was sentenced to three months imprisonment.

However, Harare magistrate, Simon Kandiyero, suspended the term on condition Kaseke performs 105 hours of community service.

Prosecuting, Faith Mukanhairi, on May 27 at around 4pm, Kaseke was at his workplace.

He was approached by an H-Metro photographer, who was conducting interviews about the rumour of the “toes-for-sale” trade.

Kaseke was then recorded on camera and claimed he was one of the agents of toes-forsale traders, charging US$200 for his services.

He revealed that the small toe was being sold for US$25 000 to US$30 000 and that the bigger toe was being sold for about US$75 000.

The video was then posted on many social media platforms.

Upon being arrested, Kaseke narrated that

he was drunk and also joking.

Kaseke also said he was not aware he was committing a crime.

The State mentioned that the matter interfered with the comfort, convenience and peace of the public, as he wantonly or mischievously, raised false alarm.
