Ngoma targets double figures

- Bruce Chikuni

TRIANGLE UNITED’S fine home run will be put to the test by champions FC Platinum in Sunday’s Castle Lager Premiership at Gibo.

Their 0-1 loss to Chicken Inn is their only home loss this campaign.

Triangle have been punching above their weight despite losing several key players at the start of the season.

Skipper Donald Ngoma has been their brightest star, scoring nine times.

All eyes will be on Ngoma, a former FC Platinum star, when they entertain the champions.

FC Platinum handed Triangle their heaviest loss, in the first half of the season, when they mauled the Sugar Sugar Boys 4-0 at Mandava.

The platinum miners have not lost a game in their last 19 games.

A top four finish is within reach for Triangle should they beat the champions.

They are currently sixth on the log, just two points outside the top.

Ngoma said he was desperate to hit double figures in the remaining two fixtures.

“It’s been a good season, we are not in the relegation matrix and I can safely say we have achieved our objective.

“We have a good chance to even finish in a better position if we can contain FC Platinum.

“Of late, we have been hard to beat at Gibbo and we are keen to give our fans something to cheer about on Sunday.”

He added:

“Individually, I’m still challenging myself to hit double figures.

“It’s something achievable and that’s my target. “I’m happy my teammates have shown a great level of determination to be where we are.

“Everyone in the team plays a crucial role in our collective team effort.”
