He threatens to axe, stab me
A HARARE woman is at odds with her husband saying he has been tormenting her by calling her a prostitute.
Auxilia Anusa was granted a protection order against her husband, Kurauone Kurasamaoko, by the Harare Civil Court yesterday.
Magistrate Tamara Chibindi also warned Kurasamaoko not to abuse, harass or intimidate his wife.
Anusa told the court Kurasamaoko was in the habit of insulting and assaulting her.
‘‘My husband insults and assaults me in front of our children, calling me a prostitute.
‘‘He treats me as if I am not his wife.
‘‘He threatened to axe and stab me one day, and I now fear for my life.
‘‘He insults me with obscenities in front of people,'' said Anusa.
Kurasamaoko denied Anusa's accusations. ‘‘Your Worship, I have a problem if you grant my wife a protection order.
‘‘The problem is I found some messages on her phone from another man from Mozambique.
‘‘My wife is a cross border trader.
‘‘I want her to stop crossing borders because akuita hupfewe hunosemesa.
‘‘If I delete her boyfriend's contact, she tells me she knows the number by head.
‘‘I told her parents and they concluded that she should stop going to Mozambique,'' said Kurasamaoko.
However, Anusa insisted that she will continue going to Mozambique because her husband cannot take care of the family given he leaves $200 per day for them.
